Love your coconut oil
There has been a lot of talk lately about coconut oil and saturated fats being bad for us. I would have liked to say that it is debatable, that there are arguments on both sides and that it is advisable to learn the subject and make up your mind, but I don’t feel comfortable saying it on this subject.
Over the last 50 years we have been told to eat a low fat diet, that fat makes you fat and will clog your arteries. Yet look around you and you’ll see that heart and degenerative disease has not improved in the last 50 years, on the contrary. And one of the reasons is the consumption of unhealthy, unnatural, processed, hydrogenated fats we have been told to consume all these years.
In the last couple of years there has been a movement back to eating natural foods found in nature, and that includes fats and oils. The research to support it has been there all the time, but was suppressed and under funded because the industries had the money to not only fund research supporting fake foods, but also threaten and prosecute scientists who wanted to advertise their unbiased results.
It seems that the processed foods industries are feeling somewhat threatened by the new surge of health guidelines and are trying to hit back. So be careful when you read an article and check who actually funded the research.
Here is a great video of Dr Michael Hyman explaining about saturated fats and cholesterol. Take a few minutes to learn a bit of truth:
